Brian McMath

Brian E. McMath is one of the newest associates to join Sheehan & Sheehan P.A. Mr. McMath is a graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, and has been a member of the New Mexico State Bar since September 2015.

As a law student, he interned for the Honorable Jimmie V. Reyna of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C., working on a variety of intellectual property, public contracting, and federal employment matters. He also competed in the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy moot court competition, serving as brief editor for the UNM team. He taught constitutional law to high school students as part of the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, and received a Clinical Honors Award recognizing outstanding performance in UNM’s clinical law program. As a summer law clerk with the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General, Mr. McMath worked on large-scale environmental, regulatory, and water law matters, including a river compact case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. McMath worked in media and advertising for nearly a decade. He is currently a director of Fathers Building Futures, a nonprofit focused on ending recidivism in New Mexico, and serves on the advisory board of 516 Arts, a nonprofit contemporary arts organization.
